Je vais peut-être choquer quelques-uns et même agacer d’autres, cela dit j’aimerais partager ceci.
Même si ce n’est pas faux, je trouve critiquable l’expression « donner sa vie à Jésus » pour exprimer que l’on est né de nouveau.
Quand on s’adresse aux non-croyants
L’expression en soi est bonne, mais elle signifie plus une consécration que la description de l’étape initiale qu’est la conversion. Pour beaucoup d’entre nous, quand on veut dire qu’on est né de nouveau, on dit « j’ai donné ma vie à Jésus« . Ce n’est pas fondé selon mes études bibliques. Nulle part, il en est mention; au contraire, elle parle de nouvelle naissance. Si tu es enfant de Dieu, tu es né de nouveau tout simplement.
On rétorquera que Proverbes dit : »Mon fils, donne-moi ton coeur« . C’est justifié car le coeur est le siège des décisions que nos prenons. La Bible veut simplement dire « Laisse-moi être la source de tes décisions ». Mais, remarquez que le père ici s’adresse à son fils. On ne peut donc pas dire à quelqu’un qu’on évangélise « Donne ton coeur à Jésus. » car cette personne n’est pas encore enfant de Dieu.
Il en est de même pour l’interprétation erronée de Apocalypse 3.20. Jésus dit « J’entrerai dans ton coeur« ; mais le Seigneur ne s’adresse pas à un incroyant, il s’adresse à Son Eglise; donc aux gens qui sont déjà enfants de Dieu.
Pour clore avec l’évangélisé, on lui dira « REPENS-TOI et RECOIS gratuitement et par la foi en Jésus-Christ, le pardon de tes péchés, afin que tu naisses de nouveau« .
C’est Jésus qui nous donne Sa vie
La Bible affirme que c’est Lui qui a donné Sa vie pour nous: Comme le Père me connaît et comme je connais le Père; et je donne ma vie pour mes brebis. (Jn 10.15). En mon sens, nous devrions dire « j’ai reçu la vie de Jésus » ou plus court « j’ai reçu Jésus« . Car « celui qui a Jésus a la vie et celui n’a pas le Fils de Dieu, n’a pas la vie« . (1 Jn 5.12). Ces versets – et tant d’autres comme Jean 3.16 ou Romains 5.8 – expriment le fait que c’est Dieu qui donne Sa vie pour nous, Il nous a aimés le Premier.
Je comprends que l’on veuille dire « j’ai consacré ma vie, j’ai soumis ma volonté au Christ »; alors pourquoi ne pas le dire de cette façon-là? Si nous sommes d’accord que nos vies sont comme des vêtements souillés et indignes du Seigneur, pourquoi la Lui donner ? Il n’agrée pas des holocaustes avec défaut, n’est-ce pas?
En fait, la Bible dit que « celui veut sauver sa vie la perdra, mais celui la perd à cause de Moi (Jésus), la gagnera« . (Lc 9,23-26Lc 9,23-26

WP-Bible plugin). C’est donc qu’il s’agit de « tuer sa vie, de mourir à soi » pour recevoir la vie de Dieu. « Si le grain ne tombe en terre et ne meurt, il ne porte pas de fruit« . Ce n’est pas un péché ou négatif de dire « j’ai donné ma vie à Jésus », mais c’est plus juste de dire « j’ai reçu la vie de Jésus » – et je le répète – quand on veut exprimer qu’on s’est engagé pour Christ.

c’est vrai que en vérité en vérité selon ce que j’ai appris ces dernières années, on ne « reçoit pas JESUS dans notre vie », mais en fait c’est lui qui nous reçoit dans Son Royaume où il est SEIGNEUR.

Quand Le SEIGNEUR dit: venez à moi… ! Suis moi… !Veillez et priez…!Aimez-vous…!Donnez aux pauvres….!
Ce ne sont pas des conseils. Ce sont des commandements auxquels on peut obeir ou désobeir.JESUS de son vivant n’a forcé personne à le suivre.IL a donné ces « commandements » et ceux qui avaient « reçus l’enseignement du Père » l’ont obei,suivi et servi.C’est ainsi:en obeissant qu’on obtient le Salut.
Malheureusement, l’évangile que beaucoup d’entre nous ont reçu et donnent en retour est un évangile où on présente JESUS comme étant la solution.Je paraphrase un auteur qui dit que JESUS devient comme la lampe d’aladin où à chaque besoin il faut juste demander. Ce qui revient à mettre JESUS dans le rang de serviteur et les disciples comme des personnes n’ayant que des droits. Or,JESUS est SEIGNEUR;nous sommes serviteurs et les autres ses créatures.Les vrais serviteurs selon JESUS devraient accomplir leur devoir sans rien espérer en retour.
